Suzie is one of my favorite clients! Not only is she pretty, she is smart. Every time I work with her, I feel like a photographer on a Covergirl shoot. She makes my job so easy! She was here for the Go Red for Women photo shoot (see http://tinyurl.com/ydq2wju) and we did two extra changes. For her work as an attorney, she wears her hair up, but she literally lets her hair down when she comes to the studio.
Cindy was in the studio having her Go Red for Women photo session (see http://tinyurl.com/ydq2wju) and her husband, Michael, was accompanying her. We did the shot for Go Red and she mentioned it was their anniversary and I offered to commemorate the occasion with a couple shot because she is repeat client who always refers me so I thought it would be a nice little gesture.
I was picturing a sweet lovey-dovey shot outside but Cindy asked if she could have one with Michael’s shirt off! So I said only if you take yours off, too and next thing you know we have a “couples gone wild” situation.
Happy anniversary, Cindy and Michael!
So, if you and your main squeeze would like a little risque something to commemorate a special occasion, just let me know. I like to say I do just enough to make it fun but nothing that would get you arrested!
Thank you Leslie Roan, Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay, for not only referring Suzanne and Nikki, but for making them as beautiful as possible before you sent them over!
You did such a great job with the makeup. They were practically glowing – even before Photoshop!

Last night’s photo booth was literally in a booth!
We shot at #TechKaraoke put on by Pinqued at Six Lounge during SXSW. The place was so packed, the only place we knew we could set up was in a corner booth. I thought it worked out great. In fact, it’s too bad booths aren’t more portable because that would be my new thing.
Here are some of my favorites of the evening:
Thank you to Pinqued: Kate Buck Jr. “Social Media Fly Girl” and Jen Wojcik “Social Media Punk Princess” for having me at your awesome event.

Kristi and Mark are married attorneys who have done three sessions with me over the years. These are from today’s session, but check out below!
From last year – Looking great for a casual couple shot:

But check out this one from the year before! Kristi has short hair and Mark is rocking the ’stache.
So if you don’t think grown-ups need to update their photos yearly, I think I just proved my point!
My loyal customer Laurie Caudle of Lee Properties (management company for housing properties on Campus) finally convinced her office mates that photography can be fun! She brought me to the office to photograph all the agents. Everyone one of them a camera phobe and they all came out stunning! Check out just a few.
This lovely young lady, Alex, just turned 14. Her mom, Jorah treated her to a professional photo session to celebrate. Her dynamic smile lights up the room – or the whole outdoors in this case. All I can say is that if I was that pretty in junior high, I would have been unbearable. She, on the other hand, is as gracious and beautiful on the inside as she is on the out. Happy birthday, Alex!
This week I had the privilege of shooting a young, up and coming actor name Morgan Sorne (pronounced ser-nah) who from the moment he walked in the door I knew I was in the presence of greatness.
First, he is a dead ringer for John Taylor of Duran Duran circa 1985. Can I get a “what what” from all my fellow Duranies? Just give him a blond streak and I would put of poster of him on my bedroom wall – if I were still 14. Anyway…
Second, as an actor, he knows how to work his face. He can give a serious look without looking angry. To borrow a term from America’s Next Top Model, he really knows how to Smize (smile with the eyes). He told me he started practicing in the mirror after seeing photos of himself that he wasn’t pleased with. Well, I think he has mastered posing.
Third, he is as genuine and authentic as they come.
A big thank you to Kirsten Winquist (also an up and comer) for the referral.
